American Girl & Home~day 6

Catalyn earned $ by getting straight A's on her report card and also won $ from a race with her daddy (lol), so of course she had one thing on her mind this entire trip...American Girl doll Addy. So on our way home we stopped at The Grove in L.A. for this new addition to Catalyns collection. (honestly, if I didn't have girls, I think I would be collecting these dolls!!) =-)

La Purisma Mission~day 5

Today Mom & I took the kids out to the La Purisma Mission for a few hours. It was such a BEAUTIFUL day and the kids were able to pretend they were Indians living in grass huts, grinding food w/ rocks and Mom & I relaxed on a bench and talked. Simple things in life are what matter most.

Ireland & Madison. Madison came over for dinner tonight to spend time with Ireland, they enjoyed getting FILTHY in the mud making some concoction!?? Simple things...

Yosemite~day 4

Today was our last day in the valley and on our way out we stopped by El Capitan to see if we could spot any climbers. Yes we did see a climber and if you look on the 2nd picture really close you'll see a dark spot, which is a tent, the climber is to the right of the tent. We had pulled over on the side of the road and with me being on the lookout for bears and mountain lions (lol) my senses were on high alert. As Stephen and the kids were watching for climbers, I was on the lookout for "wild" life. All of a sudden I saw an animal appear before us about 30ft, I yelled, "IT'S A.....DEER!" Thought we were about to be lunch!! lol

On our way down the mountain, we came across "Yosemite Mtn. Sugar Pine Railroad." We stopped and ended up going on a 1 1/4 hour train ride. It was so cool! We then proceeded on to Papa & Nana's in Lompoc. The kids were soooo excited to arrive!

Yosemite~day 3

Today was a bit warmer which made it nice not to have to wear our big heavy coats, however, the snow was melting and made our hiking trails a bit muddy, slushy and SLICK!! We first had breakfast with Wayne, Stacey & the kids before they had to head home, then we hiked up to Vernal Falls, then Mirror Lake and back to the Lodge for dinner. Vernal Falls was quite the hike! We hiked 1.8 miles round trip on this hike, slipping and sliding the ENTIRE way!!! We had quite a time, especially Catalyn & I, we held onto each other ALL the way down trying not to fall! Mirror Lake was more like a walk and was 2 miles round trip. When we got to the Lake we were able to relax on a HUGE rock halfway in the lake with Half Dome hovering over us. Such BEAUTY out here. The handy work of God!

Yosemite~day 2

We woke up this morning to icicles on our patio furniture! It must have been freeeezzziinngg last night!! =~)

Heading up to Yosemite Falls, the 5th tallest waterfall in the world.

I think if we left our coffee's here long enough, we may have gotten some frappuccinos!

We met up with Wayne, Stacey, Jacob & Jada here today and enjoyed spending time together.

Yosemite~day 1

Driving up to Yosemite we began to see snow and the higher we climbed the more we saw until it began to snow on us!! Such a beautiful drive. It was almost like God took His white paint brush out and just stroked it across our path!

Look out point coming into the Yosemite valley. El Capitan is on the left and you can see Half Dome up ahead. Such a BREATHTAKING view! Absolutely SPLENDID!!!
